CompanySony, Corp.

This endearing little character was created by Sony Corp. in the mid 1960's to help convince Americans that Japanese products were not all cheap throwaways. Sony's televisions, radios, and hi-fi's were high quality, as good or better than equivalent American-made products, so Sony president Akio Morita chose a charming, all-American boy to represent his company. Today, Sony no longer needs to prove how good its products are, so the Sony Boy is rarely seen.
