Give a Hoot! Don't Pollute!

Woodsy Owl joined the U.S. Forest Service's menagerie of meaningful characters in the 1970's, when pollution started to become a national issue. His friendly messages encouraged kids and adults alike to stop pollution before it starts. He sang and danced on TV commercials, and appeared in posters and print ads as well.

This three-dimensional figurine is holding a sign in his left hand with his trademark logo, "Give a hoot, don't pollute!" He is made of brown plastic with green jeans and a brown leather belt with a big "W" belt buckle. A red plastic feather is perched on the side of his green Robin Hood-type hat.
